Ann and I crossed the cheddar curtain and spent the day at the farmers market located on the grounds of the state capital of Wisconsin.

Yumm...Cookies !

There were plenty of fresh veggies on display, especially beets ! Who would have guessed there were that many varieties available ? We sampled cheese, cheesecake and more cheese ...hey Wisconsin is also known for micro brews ...where were THOSE samples ?!?! We fought our way to the front of the line for cheesie bread ( don't you dare cut in line or those Madisonians will take you out !) downing a spicy cheese roll as we walked away with our burning hot loaves tucked into our tote bags. There were lots of bakeries selling a huge variety of breads, cookies, bar cookies and jumbo cookies ( NO.... the cookies and whoopie pies didn't make it into the tote bags !)  After we had a picnic lunch at the lake we had to find the world renowned( OK....Madison renowned !)  Daisy Cupcakery. We were not disappointed ! We tried the mocha , double chocolate and carrot cake cupcakes. The atmosphere was very homey and comfortable, the staff was delightful and the cupcakes tasty. What not to like ? On the way home we stopped at the Cheese Chalet and met an elderly couple from Arizona who had created this Escargot camper .The windows and doors are from a Bronco ! How'z that for going green ?
